SUCCESSFUL MINOR SURGERY FOR VAN DER MARK

  |   News Racing

Michael van der Mark has successfully undergone minor surgery today for De Quervain’s tenosynovitis in his right wrist. The operation was performed at Antwerp’s ZNA Stuivenberg hospital by Dr. Geert Peersman. The 23-year-old Dutch rider is already on his way home.

“It has been a quick and small operation and surely it was the right thing to do” said van der Mark. “The doctor found some more small inflammations close to the one that gave me difficulties and he said that if I had just let it heal by resting it would have returned at some stage. I lack a bit of strength in my arm and hand at the moment but in few weeks, everything should be back to normal. Actually it already feels quite good again and I expect no issues for the next test.”
